Now this is a cute pose.  It looks like this little girl really loves her doggy.  Seeing this makes me have an even stronger craving for a pet.  I have my fish, but they're not cuddly.  They are, however, fun to watch and I imagine personalities into them.

These look like twins, though I'm not completely sure.  Some similarities, some differences.  Perhaps it is because they are sitting in similar positions.

The dress reminds me of mummy wrappings, but she has a lovely smile.

Those eyes make quite an impact.  I am reminded of a vintage portrait that hung in an old apartment.  I was living in a mansion built in 1850 that had been converted into furnished apartments.  The portrait, which was drawn, was of a little boy who seemed to be wearing slightly tattered clothing.  His eyes always looked so sad to me.  I miss that picture, but luckily I have photographs of it so that I can still say hello to him.

I see these eyes looking back at me, she is looking into the future at me and I am looking into the past at her.  We time travel and meet in the now.  I wonder who she became, what was her life like, who did she grow up to become?  Did she fall in love?  Did she live a long life?

I think this is just about as cute as they come.  I hope my friend Goatman likes this one, it has more of those pretty colors.  There is so much innocence in this image.  It takes one to know one!  haha!

...Makes me wonder when bangs became stylish.  I could never do bangs, myself, just because I'd feel a lack of symmetry and evenness throughout my hair.   ...but that's just me.  I'm weird.

I am wondering if her hair was naturally wavy or if they used some tool back then to make the "crimps".  Perhaps they heated something on the stove?

I have a photograph on my bookshelf of my great-grandfather.  He is with his pet fox.  Back then maybe pet foxes were a big thing.

Just a subtle sprinkling of color and some flowers.  Were they given to her by a beau?
I love how these vintage photographs take me back to a time that is long gone, a time in which the people that once inhabited it are also long gone.  In a way, looking at these images gives me a very eerie feeling, and that is the best way I know how to describe it.

I hope you've been enjoying these old photographs.  Over time I will add more to the collection.  I enjoy vintage and antique photographs, especially tintype images.

42

...more lovely long hair.  I wonder who had to brush it - the girl or the mother?

41

I love long hair, though I doubt I would ever let my hair get this long as it would just get in the way.

I don't guess they worried about germs so much back then.

I like how the basket in the dog's mouth makes it look like it's smiling.  :)

...and walking down the dark hallway, I could have sworn I saw those portraits' eyes following me!

37

I'm sure dressing in this costume made the little girl's day.  I can imagine her running around telling all her friends about it.  Can you see her smiling and laughing?

I've never worn any hat other than a baseball hat.  I would never fit in at the Derby.

35

I wonder if it's that same girl and her giant cat from before?  The eyes seem to be the same piercing eyes.

34

I am reminded of the short story "The Rocking Horse Winner" by D.H. Lawrence.

This grandma is not someone I'd want catching me with my hand in the cookie jar.

31

Seeing a dress like this almost makes me feel out of breath when I imagine all she had to go through to fit into it.

What is going on here?  Very odd.  Is this some kind of preacher giving the holy touch to a member of his flock?  Is he a hypnotist?  Are they just plain nuts?

I still like to swing, too.  My love pushes me as I whoooosh through the air.

She looks like a little daydreamer.  I know this because I am one myself!

Not that I understand the language but my guess is, "Hindu Medicine Doctor" or "Priest".

25

I don't know if it's just my imagination but there seems to be a hint of a mohawk. Is it a mohawk or perhaps a mistake in the haircut, or then again just my imagination? If it is a mohawk it is difficult for me to wrap my mind around the idea of such style way back then. But then again, styles have been known to be recycled.

Another studious looking girl

20

I love the old fashioned baby carriage.

19

That hat is something else!

18

A little girl and a bird in a cage. I wonder what is written on the book she is holding?

17

I bet that was a nice pocket watch.

16

This woman is very mysterious to me. She reminds me of Kirsten Dunst, too. Does anyone else agree?

15

I would adopt this cherub!

14

Why does this man remind me of Dr. Freud, and why does his dog remind me of Spuds MacKenzie?

13

This time they managed to get her to look at the camera.

12

11

I have long hair so I am a big fan of vintage photos of girls and women with long hair.

10

These look like some good ole boys.

9

Most of the vintage photographs I've seen in my life tend to be of white people or Native Americans, so it's unusual for me to find some of black people.

8

I've seen lots of such serious vintage images. I hope they smile sometimes.
